Police Chase Suspect Through Five RI Towns Into Massachusetts

The pursuit continued through Barrington, Warren, Rehoboth, Seekonk and Swansea. A police officer was also struck by the suspect's car.

WARWICK, RI — A Warren woman was arrested in Swansea, Massachusetts, after police chased her from Warwick through four other Rhode Island towns into Massachusetts.

Police said the Monday-morning chase ended in a parking lot at routes 6 and 136 in Swansea, where Irina Bublik, 30, of Warren, was charged with assault and battery on a police officer with a dangerous weapon, operating under the influence, driving to endanger, failure to stop for police and traffic violations. She also faces charges from other police departments.

Swansea police said the chase began in Warwick when Bublik refused to stop for police there. The chase temporarily broke off in Cranston, but started again in East Providence.

The pursuit continued through Barrington, Warren, Rehoboth, Seekonk and Swansea. During the pursuit, Swansea police said, an officer was hit by Bublik's car but not seriously injured.
