Pot Possession, Shoplifting, Cyberstalking, "Man Hunt" Mistake

The following information was provided by the Bristol Police Department. Where an arrest is noted, it does not indicate a conviction.

 

The Bristol Police Department reported the following recent arrests and incidents:

  • Corey Almeida, of 503 Wood St., on a charge of disorderly conduct, on March 25 at about 5 am. The charge was dismissed at arraignment later that day.
  • Robert Kearney, of 711 Manomet Court, Warwick, on an active warrant issued by Sixth District Court for failure to appear at a March 14 sentencing hearing on charges of willful trespass and violation of a no-contact order brought by Warwick Police, on March 27 at about 5:30 pm. Officers responded to Hope Street and Usher Terrace for a report of a man walking in the area; Bristol Rescue personnel also responded, and transported Kearney to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment.
  • Craig Kelly, of 70 Carrol St., Newport, on a warrant issued on a shoplifting charge, on March 27 at about 8 am. He is currently awaiting trial on drug possession and obstruction charges in one case brought by Middletown Police, and a separate fugitive-from-justice charge brought by Middletown Police. He is also scheduled to appear at a pre-trial conference today on a felony shoplifting charge brought by Cranston Police.
  • Michael Rodrigues, of 34 San Juan Drive, on March 28 at 12:15 pm on a charge of driving with a suspended license and an active warrant issued by Sixth District Court for failure to appear at a November, 2012, payment hearing on a prior charge of driving with a suspended license brought by Warren Police.
  • David Pacheco, of 41 Thompson Ave., on a charge of marijuana possession, on March 28 at about 8 pm on Richmond Street.
  • Jason Carvalho, of 123 Sunrise Drive, on a charge of shoplifting on March 29 at 12:10 pm at the Stop & Shop on Metacom Avenue.
  • Thomas Engelhardt, of 2340 Hartford Ave., Johnston, on a charge of cyberstalking a Bristol resident, on March 29 at about 9:30 pm. He was released on personal recognizance following his arrest, and a no-contac order was imposed. He is due for arraignment in Sixth District Court, Warwick, on Apr. 10.
  • Michael Bennett, of 60 Washington St., on a DUI charge on March 30 at about 1 am on Hope Street. He is due for arraignment in Sixth District Court, Warwick, on Apr. 10.

Other reports:

  • Officers quarantined a dog on March 25 at about 5 pm after it bit a Jewett Street resident. Police reports noted the dog's rabies vaccines were not up to date.
  • The Bristol Animal Control Officer responded to the East Bay Bike Path for a call of a raccoon in the area. The animal appeared to be healthy, according to police reports.
  • On March 29 at about 1:30 pm, officers responded to Thompson Avenue for a report of a loud house party. Officers found two subjects washing a car with a radio playing, and advised them to lower the volume.
  • Responding to a call for an open fire on March 29 at about 2 pm, officers responded to Shaws Lane and directed the homeowner to extinguish the fire.
  • Officers responded to the Church Street dock on Thames Street on March 29 at about 4:30 pm for a call of suspicious activity. According to police reports, the responding officer found a man looking through the boats moored at the dock. The man said he didn't own a boat in the area, and was ordered to leave.
  • After a resident called to report a male subject in dark clothing hiding in the shadows on Claremont Avenue on March 29 at about 8:40 pm, officers responded to the area and learned that it was a group of children playing "man hunt."
