WARREN, RI — Applications are now available for summer jobs in Warren. The town is looking to hire lifeguards, summer camp counselors and tennis instructors. Hourly rates range from $10.50 to $25 per hour.

Applications are available on the town's website. Descriptions of each job are listed below.

Lifeguard

  • Duties and responsibilities: Lifeguards will maintain constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; act immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the water and at the park. Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
  • Must be NON-SURF, CPR certified
  • Weekday hours: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., weekends: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Must participate in a two-day training program
  • Must be available to work weekends from Memorial Day weekend until June 21, then daily from June 25 to Sept. 6
  • Hour wage: $14

Summer Camp Counselor

  • Duties and responsibilities: Camp counselors will provide a safe, supervised, fun, respectable, clean environment during program time, meals, and field trips. Supervisors will report to the assistant director & the director.
  • Must be available to work from June 25 through August 14
  • Must be CPR/first aid certified (if not certified, training will be provided)
  • Must participate in a two-day training program
  • Weekday hours: 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., extended 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Hourly wage: $10.50
  • Available positions: arts & crafts, gymnastics, tennis, preschool, traditional camp supervisor, wrestling

Tennis Instructor

  • Duties and responsibilities: Teach youth and/or adult tennis lessons in an outdoor recreation setting. Communicate effectively with participants, parents and other staff.
  • Must be able to provide excellent instruction and customer service to participants, parents and public. Tennis experience required.
  • Must be CPR/first aid certified
  • Six-week spring program
  • Hours: weekday evenings, four hours per week
  • Hourly wage: $25
