BRISTOL-WARREN, RI — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we’re working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.

This submission comes from Kristin Fletcher who nominated Tina Leocadio, of Bristol-Warren. Leocadio is a volunteer with Wildlife Rehabilitators Association of Rhode Island, where Fletcher works.

"Tina is a licensed volunteer wildlife rehabilitator with Wildlife Rehabilitators Association of Rhode Island for at least ten years," Fletcher said. "[She] has saved the lives of hundreds of wild babies and raised them for release back into the environment. She has unbounded compassion for all animals — both domestic and wild — and has worked tirelessly to save animal lives even during the pandemic."

Thank you for all you do, Tina!
