Warren Town Beach Reopens to Swimmers

Warren Town Beach reopened to swimmers on Thursday after water tests showed bacteria levels were within acceptable limits.

While the weather might not be ideal for a day at the beach, the waters at Warren Town Beach are once again safe for swimmers, according to state Dept. of Health officials.

HEALTH officials recommended re-opening Warren Town Beach for swimming on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. This recommendation is based on results from water samples that show bacteria levels are within acceptable limits. HEALTH will continue to monitor the water quality regularly at all licensed beaches to assure safe bathing throughout the summer season.

The following licensed beach remains closed to swimming due to high bacteria counts: Oakland Beach in Warwick. Officials will continue to monitor the water quality and recommend re-opening when the areas are safe for swimming. Water quality analysis is conducted by the HEALTH laboratory or a state certified laboratory.
