Weekend Agenda: Support an East Bay Mother of Six and More

Pack your weekend full of fun with these events across Bristol and Warren.

Learn about culture, food and community in Bristol and Warren this weekend with a sampling of the many events these close-knit communities have to offer.

1. A Swift Cause; the foundation raises money for Natalie Swift and East Bay mother of six. Check out a concert by Neal & The Vipers (formerly Young Neal & The Vipers) on Saturday, Aug. 3 at 5 p.m. at Burr's Hill Park in Warren. The opening act is Juniper Hill. Tickets cost $20. Food, beer, and wine will be available for purchase at the event. Silent auctions and raffles will occur. All proceeds benefit A Swift Cause; the foundation for Natalie Swift and East Bay mother of six; suffering from ALS (Lou-Gehrig's disease). 2. Cosmic Joe Caron performs at Tweet's Tiki Hut. Joe Caron will be performing acoustic versions of hits from the 70's to today with his own brand of comedy mixed in on Saturday, Aug. 3 at Tweet's Tiki Hut, located on Mt. Hope Ave. in Bristol. Come by and enjoy a warm summer night outdoors listening to music and dining on the new pub-style menu. There is no cover.

3. Open Art Studio at the Reynold's School. Our Adult Open Art Studio will meet on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. We will have an instructor for beginning instruction or intermediate support. The class costs $5, pay as you go.

4. Shoot some hoops in Bristol on Thursday. The Bristol over 40 men's basketball league hits the courts on Sunday, Aug. 4 at the Bristol Recreation department. There is no fee to participate and players face off from 4 - 6 p.m.

5. Get your reading on this weekend! The RFL Summer Reading Program meets on Sunday at the Children's Room at the Rogers Free Library from 9 a.m. to noon.
