West Nile Virus Found In Warren Mosquito Pool: DEM

It's the first pool to test positive this summer, DEM said.

WARREN, RI—West Nile virus has been found in a test pool of mosquitoes in Warren, state officials at the Department of Environmental Management confirmed on Thursday. It is the first time this year the virus has been detected in Rhode Island. No human cases have been reported, but people are reminded to use bug repellant and not allow standing water, where bugs can breed, to collect around their property.
