Where to Cool Off in Bristol and Warren

With temperatures climbing outside, there are still a few ways to cool off in Bristol and Warren.

As temperatures outside continue to rise, residents still have a few options to cool down in Bristol and Warren.

If you don't have an air conditioner to keep you cooled down at home, you might want to stop in at one of the region's cooling centers - sponsored by the state Emergency Management Agency.

1. Due to forecasted heat and humidity, the RIEMA announced a cooling center was opened in Bristol at the Rogers Free Library, located at 525 Hope St.; Monday – Thursday from 9 a.m. – 8 p.m.

2. Visit the Bristol Town Beach and take a swim that's sure to cool you down!

4. It might sound like an unconventional way to cool off, but when was the last time you were in a store without air conditioning? It doesn’t cost anything to slip in and out of stores for some indoor window shopping. Also, check out your local church or synagogue—they may be hosting rummage sales in their chilly, subterranean basements.

5. Check out your local recreation or community center for a listing of indoor classes and activities. Or step up your visits to the gym. Check out Bristol Yoga Center.

Of course, don’t forget to stay hydrated. And if there's no time to get out, you can always take a nice cold shower.

Remember, if the car is too hot for you, it's also too hot for pets! Please don't leave them in the car unattended.
