14-Month-Old Baby Left In Unheated Car For Half An Hour: Police
Cranston police said the child's parents left them completely unattended in an unlocked, unattended vehicle.

CRANSTON, RI — Two Providence parents are facing charges after they were accused of leaving their infant unattended in their unlocked vehicle over the weekend. Tatiana Lowrie, 21, and Marvin Bastien, 35, were both charged with cruelty to or neglect of a child.
The incident happened in the parking lot of the Burlington Coat Factory on Garfield Avenue around 6:40 p.m. on Saturday. A witness said they heard "screaming in the vehicle" and called the police. Officers found Bastien and Lowrie in the store, and determined that they left the 14-month-old baby in the car, unheated, for more than half an hour.
"Without an alert witness, this could have been a very different situation given the risks these parents took," Major Todd Patalano said in a statement.
