2 MA Men Will Serve 31 Years For Providence Club Shooting
Dajour Hutchins, 23, and Robert Sudue, 27, both of Worcester, will serve a combined 31 years in prison for the 2019 shooting at Club Flow.
PROVIDENCE, RI — Two Massachusetts will serve a combined 31 years in prison for a 2019 shooting in Providence, Attorney General Peter Neronha announced Tuesday. The pair, both from Worcester, pleaded guilty to charges stemming from a shooting at Club Flow that seriously injured one person.
Dajour Hutchins, 23, pleaded guilty to one count each of felony assault resulting in serious bodily injury, discharge of a firearm during the commission of a crime of violence resulting in injury and carrying a pistol without a license. Robert Sudue, 27, pleaded guilty to one count each of assault with a dangerous weapon, use of a firearm during the commission of a crime of violence and carrying a pistol without a license.
In court on June 15, Hutchins was sentenced to 38 years at the Adult Correctional Institutions in Cranston with 18 to serve. The same day, Sudue was sentenced to 23 years at the ACI with 13 to serve.

"If there was ever a case where long sentences were warranted, this is it. The notion that an appropriate response to being asked to leave a nightclub is to shoot up the place is outrageous," Neronha said. "This is 2021, not the ‘Old West’, notwithstanding the defendants’ apparent confusion otherwise. They are now off the streets – and that makes everyone safer. I am grateful for the continuing fine work of the Providence Police Department, in partnership with this Office, to investigate and prosecute gun violence."
The charges stemmed from an incident on August 18, 2019. According to Neronha's office, the pair entered Club Flow on Cranston Street and held employees at gunpoint, shooting multiple times both inside and outside the club.

One person was seriously injured when he was shot in the back after confronting Hutchins in the entryway and tried to run away. He was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital, where he underwent surgery and later recovered, the AG said.
According to Neronha's office, Hutchins and Sudue visited the club earlier that night and were asked to leave by security. They then returned to their vehicles for their guns and went back to the club to confront the employees.
"Gun violence continues to be a widespread concern throughout our communities and the criminals responsible for these mindless acts have no regard for themselves or the lives of the innocent victims and their families that are affected by them," said Steven Paré, the Providence Commissioner of Public Safety. "Once again, I thank our law enforcement partners at the Attorney General’s Office for their dedication and hard work, bringing justice to the victim involved. I commend the PPD Detective Bureau for their outstanding efforts throughout this investigation."
