Aleppo Sweets offers "best-in-class baklava at a homey Syrian café." Their baker, Youssef, has been making his famous baklava since he was 16 years old in Aleppo, Syria. After the civil war began, he escaped with his family, opening a new bakery in Providence. The Ives Street bakery is open Thursday through Sunday.
Big king, meanwhile, is a "one-of-a-kind Japanese hideaway," featuring the creations of Chef James Mark. Located at Luongo Square in the West Side of Providence, the menu features two, fixed-priced meal options designed each day with local ingredients.
