PROVIDENCE, RI — It's Ben and Jerry's free cone day 2019, and there's one place in Rhode Island where you can get a complimentary scoop. Free ice cream is available all day on April 9 until 8 p.m. at the Thayer Street location.
"Every time you enjoy a scoop of Ben & Jerry's, you're showing us how much you care. We love you too, and Free Cone Day is our favorite way to show it!" the company wrote on its website.
Free cone day has been a Ben and Jerry's tradition since 1979, when the first event was held at the flagship location in Burlington, Vermont. Today, it's held at locations across the globe as a way for the company to thank loyal fans.
