EG Animal Protection League Sends Out Urgent Call For Donations
Hugo the puppy needs emergency surgery that will cost thousands of dollars, the organization said.

CRANSTON, RI — The East Greenwich Animal Protection League, Heart of Rhode Island issued an urgent call for donations to help a dog in need of emergency surgery. Hugo underwent surgery for a prolapsed intestine on Thursday, which will cost the organization several thousand dollars.
"Hugo needs all of us!" the organization wrote on Facebook.
The surgery was needed for an Intussusception, or inflammation of the intestine that causes it to slip out of place, or prolapse. In addition, a portion of the intestine folded over, which is known as invagination.
