Cranston To Celebrate The Girls Softball Teams

CRANSTON, RI— The girls on the Junior and Majors softball teams have returned from national and regional tournaments, and Cranston Mayor Allan W. Fung is throwing a celebration for them Wednesday afternoon. The event starts at 5:30 p.m. at the gazebo at Garden City Center. Cranston's two National Budlong Little League teams won state and district championships, the mayor's office said.

"The CNBLL Juniors finished their incredible season ranked fourth in the world after a strong run that ended with a tough loss against Italy at the World Series in Kirkland, Washington.The CNBLL Majors finished second at the East Coast Regionals in Bristol, Conn.," Fung's office said.
