Cranston Man Charged With Dealing Crack

A Cranston man is facing charges.

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI—An investigation has led to a Cranston man's arrest. Police said Elliott Nelson, 43, was charged on Tuesday with Delivery of a Controlled Substance Schedule I/II (Crack cocaine). He has "prior convictions for delivery of narcotics and is on probation for delivery of crack cocaine," police said. Detectives started looking at him in June because a source said he was still selling crack.

An undercover officer arranged a buy from Nelson. Police then went to court for an arrest warrant, which was signed June 19.

The Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Nelson in Cranston. He is being held at the state prison.
