Curling In Cranston: Mayor Fung & Navy War College Students To Hit Cranston Ice Rink
The Naval War College students are going to participate in an intramural curling competition on Sunday.

CRANSTON, RI — The informal title is the President Cup's Curling Competition, and it's going down in Cranston on Sunday, according to the Naval War College. Curling, as Daniel Kuester, of the war college, put it is "that frozen version of shuffleboard you saw last on the winter Olympics." But this event will feature students from U.S. Naval War College, who will compete in an intramural-style format.
The event is May 21 from 3 to 6:30 p.m. at Cranston Veteran Memorial Rink, 900 Phenix Ave, Cranston, 02921.
The Ocean State Curling Club will take the teams out on the ice. Each team will then receive about 30 minutes of instruction as to the different positions and how to send the stone down the ice.

"We will then start match play among the teams rotating the senior class and staff/faculty teams so that we can calculate President's Cup points," Kuester said.
