Election 2018: Fung Won 13 Cities & Towns

Rhode Island has 39 cities and towns, and Gov. Gina Raimondo won 26 of them.

CRANSTON, RI--Cranston Mayor Allan Fung won one city and 12 towns in the Nov. 6 election. Gov. Gina Raimondo won all the rest. And although Fung improved on his vote total from 2014 when 117,428 people voted for him, so did Raimondo. Almost 200,000 Rhode Islanders voted for her on Tuesday compared to 131,899 in 2014. The strong turnout was the difference; but the map to victory for Rhode Island Republicans also seems to be shrinking.

Rhode Island has 39 cities and towns. Republicans typically have fared well in the rural communities and in some of the suburbs.

Fung won his home town, Cranston with 53.1 percent of the vote. He was most popular in Scituate, where he captured 58.2 percent of the vote. Here are the tallies for the places where Fung beat Raimondo, according to the state Board of Election's unofficial results.
