Fire Damages Home in Cranston

A home on East Street was damaged by a fire that broke out Saturday night.

CRANSTON, RI—A Cranston home was seriously damaged Saturday night following a fire that started at approximately 10 p.m. on East Street.

Cranston Police Department said everyone got out of the home safely and no injuries were reported, but the residents have been displaced and are being assisted by the American Red Cross.

"The American Red Cross is helping one family – two adults after a fire yesterday on East Street, Cranston," said a press release from the organization. "The Red Cross provided assistance to meet the family’s immediate needs."

The cause of the fire remains under investigation and no further information has been released.
