The firefighter-themed sub shop is seeing its first action in Rhode Island on Monday.

CRANSTON, RI — Firehouse Subs is now open in Cranston at the chain's first location in the Ocean State. As of 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14, they're open for business.

Franchisees Sejal and Harsh Patel own the new restaurant, which features a mural depicting Cranston firefighters battling a March 1992 apartment fire. Their rescue efforts saved several lives, the press release says.

“Food is a communal experience that makes people happy, and we’re excited to be a part of that with our first Firehouse Subs restaurant,” said the Patels. “We’ve always dreamed of owning our own business and have been searching for the perfect opportunity for years. This is a dream come true.”
