Grand Jury Indicts White-Gloved Robber Samuel Vasquez
Cranston police arrested him last June after a failed robbery attempt at the Dunkin' Donuts on Reservoir Avenue.

CRANSTON, RI—The statewide grand jury has indicted a Providence man for armed robbery, the state Attorney General's Office said Tuesday. Samuel Vasquez, 32, alias Samuel Vazquez, alias Samuel Vazques, is being charged with six counts of first degree robbery, six counts of using a firearm while committing a crime of violence, three counts of assault with intent to commit robbery, and one count of possession of a firearm after previously being convicted of a crime of violence. The charges are in connection with several armed robberies committed between May 24 and June 16 in Cranston and in Providence.
Vasquez, who was called the white-gloved robber due to gloves he wore with his disguise, was finally caught after he attempted to rob a Dunkin' Donuts on Reservoir Avenue. He didn't get away with any money that time. Police said the employees called 911, and he ran. They described a man wearing a hoodie, gloves and a kerchief over his face. Police recognized his car in a car wash parking lot and arrested him.
He will be in court for an arraignment Dec. 5. Vazquez is being held without bail.
