Heat Advisory For Much Of RI Ahead Of Another Scorcher
The heat index is expect to climb as high as 97 degrees during the afternoon.
PROVIDENCE, RI — Another oppressively hot day is in the forecast for Rhode Island.
The National Weather Service extended its heat advisory to include northern and central parts of the state, with the heat index expected to top out at 97 degrees. The advisory will be in effect from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday.
The East Bay and southern parts of the state are not covered by the advisory.

Tuesday is expected to be the last oppressively hot day, with slightly lower temperatures moving in for the end of the week.
Rain is expected to move in Tuesday night, continuing throughout the evening hours and potentially into Wednesday morning. High temperatures are expected to reach about 86 degrees Wednesday, with cloudy skies and showers possible throughout the day.

Sunny skies should move back in on Thursday, with temperatures in the high 70s. Heading in to the weekend, expect milder temperatures and sunny skies.
