JetBlue To Temporarily Suspend Flights to RI: Coronavirus
The airline will consolidate service in five major metropolitan areas from April 15 to June 10 to adapt to record-low flight demand.

WARWICK, RI — JetBlue will temporarily suspend flights to T.F. Green Airport amidst the coronavirus pandemic. The change is part of a consolidation in five of the country's largest metro areas: Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York City and Washington, D.C.
From April 15 to June 10, JetBlue will only offer flights to one airport in these major cities. Rather than flying to both Rhode Island and Boston, the airline will only offer flights to Logan Airport to "reducing excess flying during a time of unprecedented low demand for air travel while maintaining a critical level of service across the airline’s network for those who absolutely must fly," the company said in a statement.
Scott Laurence, a spokesperson for JetBlue, said the company is adaopting to meet the current situation.

"We face new challenges every day and can’t hesitate to take the steps necessary to reduce our costs amidst dramatically falling demand so we can emerge from this unprecedented time as a strong company for our customers and crewmembers," Laurence said.
The airline also plans to file an exemption request with the U.S. Department of Transportation to temporarily suspend flights to airports where there are only a few flights per day and where there is currently very low demand for service. The company has decreased flights across its netowrk by 80 percent per day in April, the company said.
Customers whose flights have been canceled by the changed policy will receive an email with options for a refund, credit for future travel or rebooked flight.
