Multi-State Crime Spree Stretches From MA To RI

A man and woman are accused of stealing from jewelry stores from Cambridge to Pawtucket.

PROVIDENCE, RI — A man and woman are accused of committing a crime spree that spanned several cities and two states earlier in late February. Although police said the two suspects have been identified, their names and any charges have not been publicly announced.

The string of thefts happened at jewelry stores in Cambridge and North Attleboro, Massachusetts, and Pawtucket, Rhode Island on Feb. 26. Around 2:30 p.m., the man ran out of a store on Cambridge Street with engagement rings, escaping in a car driven by the woman. The North Attleboro and Pawtucket stores were hit at 4 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., respectively, the same day.

On Wednesday, Cambridge police announced that both people involved had been identified. More information is expected to be forthcoming.
