New England Patriots Renew Partnership With T.F. Green Airport

WARWICK, RI — The New England Patriots are here to stay. Their plane, that is.

On Monday, the Rhode Island Airport Corporation announced the team renewed their contract with the Rhode Island Airport through June 30, 2025, keeping the red, white and blue plane parked in Warwick for the foreseeable future.

T.F. Green Airport will continue to use the partnership to their advantage, touting "the official airport of the New England Patriots" on marketing materials, as well as using it as an opportunity to push for a name change.

According to a 2018 survey, just 10.3 percent of people polled from Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut, as well as Europe and major cities in the U.S. were able to correctly identify T.F. Green as Rhode Island, the airport said. The majority of those surveyed said "Rhode Island International Airport" would be a better fit.

Although the airport has more potential passengers in its surrounding "catchment area," it attracts just a fraction of Boston's Logan International Airport. The Patriots partnership is one way the airport is working to increase brand awareness and attract customers, officials said.
