Read, Arthur W. Jr., 79, died Wednesday, May 18, 2016. He was the beloved husband of Barbara A. (Langella) Read and son of the late Arthur W. and Alice V. (Borsey) Read. Arthur was a sheet metal worker and owner and operator of Read Sheet Metal in Warwick. He had served with the RI Army National Guard for 10 years. He was known for his quick wit and sense of humor and his love for watching Lawrence Welk. He was the beloved father of Donna M. Brennan (Leo) and Cheryl A. Illiano (Salvatore); grandfather of Ashley and Ryan Sadlier and Tara Vossler; great grandfather of Aidan and Alivia; brother of Carol A. Lepore, Alton E. Read and the late Jean Beverly Read. He also leaves his stepgrandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
His funeral will be held Monday, May 23, 2016 at 9:30 am from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in Holy Apostle Church, Pippin Orchard Road, Cranston. Entombment in Our Risen Christ Garden Mausoleum, St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours Sunday 2-6 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Tomorrow Fund, 593 Eddy Street, Providence, RI 02903, will be appreciated.
