Jane M. Alexander, R.N., B.S.N., age 52, of Elena Street, Cranston, died unexpectedly on Thursday, August 18, 2016.

Jane M. Alexander, R.N., B.S.N., age 52, of Elena Street, Cranston, died unexpectedly on Thursday, August 18, 2016, at Rhode Island Hospital.
Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late Milton C. and Alice E. (Luby) Alexander, she lived in Warwick for 20 years before moving to Cranston.
Jane earned her Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 1994 from Salve Regina University.

She was a loving sister and a favorite aunt to her nieces and nephews. A dedicated caregiver who was loved by her patients, Jane was particularly gifted in working with the elderly.
A quintessential hostess, she enjoyed cooking and hosting holiday gatherings for the family. She traveled extensively but especially enjoyed being by the ocean and walking along the beach.

Jane cherished her Irish heritage. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved reminiscing on childhood memories. She was a confident, independent, and courageous woman.
She is survived by her three sisters and one brother, Joan M. Mitchell and her husband Robert, of Pawtucket, Jean M. Luisi and her husband Frank, of North Kingstown, John O. Alexander and his wife Lauren, of Austin, TX, and Patricia A. Szymko and her husband John, of Upton, MA; her nieces and nephews, Allison M. Luisi, Andrea B. Luisi, Alexander R. Mitchell, Brett M. Szymko, Jake M. Szymko, Natalie J. Alexander, and Katherine E. Alexander. She also leaves behind her companion, Joe Holtzman.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, August 23, at 9 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Kevin Church, 333 Sandy Lane, Warwick. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. Visiting hours will be on Monday from 4-7 p.m. Contributions in her memory may be made to St. Kevin Church.
