PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence Animal Control was sable to safely free a cat that was stuck in a plastic food container lid. It took volunteers over three and a half hours to free him.

"Never a dull moment at PAC!" the agency wrote on Facebook. "It's so good we have great employees and friends who are always willing to help!"

The cat was nicknamed "Tupper" for the Tupperware-style lid he was stuck in. He also suffered from an infected eye.

PAC officials say that animals will frequently stick their heads into circular plastic objects that are thrown away and become stuck. To prevent this, they encourage cutting into items such as yogurt cups, cereal containers, soda can rings and other similar items.
