Providence Gridiron Club To Recognize Tom Milewski

The longtime Falcons coach will be among seven coaches and officials at the annual Hall of Fame Night, Wednesday, Nov. 8.

CRANSTON, RI - From the Providence Grid Iron Club: Long time Cranston West Falcons assistant coach, Tom Milewski, is finally being recognized for all the work he puts in on behalf of High school football, and, high school football players, not only in Cranston , but, in the state of Rhode Island.

Coach Milewski will be among seven esteemed coaches and officials to be recognized by the Providence Gridiron Club at their annual Hall of Fame Night, Wednesday, November 8th at 7 pm at the Quonset 'O' Club in North Kingstown.

Others to be honored include former St.Ray's star and college player and coach, Jack Jordan; standout football official, John Abbate; Hope High coach, Mike Gibbons, long time coach and sports official, Frank Iannetta; high school and college coach Mike Salomone, along with Coach Milewski.

Former URI sports announcer, Jim Norman, will be presented with a Meritorious Service Award that night also.

Milewski is going into his 20th season at West, where he started as an assistant fresh-man coach and worked himself up to defensive coordinator on the varsity under Head Coach Steve Stoehr. He also worked as a coach in the Johnston pre-teen program.

Tom has been a member of the Gridiron Club for 15 years and served as treasurer for five years along with 12 years on the Executive Board.

He has also been a member of the Rhode Island High School Football Coaches Association for 17 years and served as Treasurer for nine years.

Milewski also played his high school football at Cranston West and was a captain his senior year, along with being an All Division selection.

Besides the banquet, Milewski and his fellow inductees will be honored at a Brunch on Sunday, November 5th at 10:00am at the Rhode Island Country Club in Barrington.

It is hoped that family, friends, team mates, class mates and colleagues will attend to help Tom celebrate his special night.

Tickets for the banquet are $40 ( prime rib dinner) and for the Brunch they are $25.
