Providence Place Mall Exit On I-95 North To Close For 2 Nights
The two-night closure is needed for ongoing work in the Exit 22 B/C bridge.

PROVIDENCE, RI — Exit 22 B and C off Interstate 95 North in downtown Providence will once again close, this time for two nights next week. The Rhode Island Department of Health said the overnight closures are needed for ongoing construction work on the exit bridge.
This is not the first time the exit was closed for road work. In June, the exit was closed from Sunday through Thursday nights.
The exit will close from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. on Monday and Tuesday of next week, weather permitting. During that time, workers will replace the railings on the bridge. Exit 22 A and I-95 South will not be affected by the closure.

While the exit is closed, driers will be detoured to Exit 23, the state offices and Route 146. The detour goes as follows:
- I-95 North to Exit 23 (State Offices/Route 146)
- Turn right onto Orms Street
- Turn right onto Douglas Avenue
- Turn right onto the on-ramp to I-95 South
- Take I-95 South to Exit 22B (Route 6 West)
Bridge repairs are set to be finished by 2021, RIDOT said. The construction is part of a $10.4 million project to repair seven bridges in Providence.
