Ramps At I-95, Rt. 10 To Close Overnight In Cranston
Overnight closures will begin Sunday and continue through Thursday, followed by intermittent overnight closures in the coming months.

CRANSTON, RI — Cranston drivers who hit the roads at night should plan ahead for delays and closures in the area of I-95 and Route 10, according to the Rhode Island Department of Transportation.
In a news release, RIDOT announced ramps connecting the two roadways will close intermittently from 9 p.m. to 6 p.m. starting Sunday. Overnight closures could continue as-needed over the next three months.
RIDOT said the ramp from I-95 North to Route 10 North will close nightly on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Drivers will be required to detour at exit 16 and keep right for the Elmwood Avenue ramp. They will then make a left at the signal and turn right onto a Route 10 North on ramp.

The ramp from Route 10 to I-95 North will close on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday night, RIDOT said. The detour from Route 10 will take drivers to the ramp to I-19 south, where they will be made to reverse directions to I-95 North at Exit 15, Jefferson Boulevard.
RIDOT said travel delays are not expected, but drivers should continue to reduce their speed through work zones. During road work, ramp surfaces will be rough.

Beyond this week's closures, intermittent overnight closures could occur as needed. Ramp closures and other travel advisories will be posted on RIDOT's website.
The ramp project, RIDOT said, is part of a $37.7 million project to rehabilitate Huntington North and South ramp bridges.
During the project, two large bridges carrying I-95 over Elmwood and Wellington Avenue will be replaced.
