Rhode Island Gas Prices Drop 4 Cents
The average price for a gallon of gas is now $2.50 in Rhode Island.
Gas prices fell by an average four cents over the past week in Rhode Island, according to AAA Northeast. The average price for a gallon of gas is now $2.50, which is higher than the national average.
Rhode Island's average price is three cents above the national average of $2.47 per gallon. This time last year, gas was 18 cents cheaper at $2.32.
Lloyd Albert, AAA's senior vice president of public and government affairs, said there are two reasons for the drop in price.

"Crude oil prices are $10 less a barrel than one month ago and U.S. gasoline stocks sit at an all-time record high. Cheaper crude and healthy stock levels mean motorists can expect prices to continue to decline this month."
