PROVIDENCE, RI — Rhode Island's two Macy's locations appear to have been spared from the latest round of the retail store chain's closures. The list of stores slated for closure released Wednesday morning did not include any in the state.

Rhode Island has two Macy's stores: one in the Rhode Island mall and another in the Providence Place Mall. The multi-level stores are large anchor businesses for their respective shopping centers.

According to USA Today, dozens of Macy's locations across the country are set to liquidate their stores and close by the end of April. The store's parent company, which also owns Bloomingdale's and Bluemercury, operated more than 700 stores nationwide, as of Oct. 31.
