CRANSTON, RI — About 3,200 new coronavirus vaccine appointments will be added to Rhode Island's scheduling portal at 9 a.m. Thursday, the Department of Health announced Wednesday afternoon. The new appointments will be for the mass-vaccination clinic at Sockanosset Cross Road in Cranston.

New appointments are usually added twice weekly, Tuesday mornings and Friday evenings. This latest batch will come a day early, since many are for Friday, the department said.

The appointments were scheduled to be released Tuesday, a spokesperson for the department explained, but were held back as RIDOH worked to ensure that everyone with an appointment for a Johnson & Johnson vaccine could receive a Pfizer or Moderna dose instead.
