RIPTA Buses To Run On Holiday Schedule July 4
Plan ahead if you plan on riding RIPTA buses on July 4, as buses will be running on a holiday schedule.
If you plan on riding a Rhode Island Public Transit Authority bus on July 4, plan ahead, since all routes will be running on a holiday schedule. In addition, Route 60, which runs from Providence to Newport, will be detoured to accommodate the Bristol Fourth of July Parade.
All regular, fixed routes will run on a Sunday-Holiday schedule on Thursday. All RIPTA offices in Kennedy Plaza, RIde Reservation Office and Flex Reservation Office will be closed.
From 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Route 60, which runs from Providence to Newport, will be detoured for the Bristol Fourth of July parade. Outbound trips will leave Providence and continue along their usual routes to the intersection of Route 114 and Gooding Avenue in Bristol, where they will turn left onto Gooding Avenue, right onto Metacom Avenue, then bear left to merge onto Route 114 before resuming the usual route. Inbound trips, meanwhile, will begin on their usual route alonf Routes 114 and 136 before turning left onto Metacom Avenue, left onto Gooding Avenue and right onto Route 114 before resuming their normal routes.

RIde will only offer ADA trips on the holiday. There will be no Flex services available either, except for Route 210 in Kingston, which will run on a holiday schedule. Regular service will resume on Friday.
