RISD Museum To Offer Free Admission Sundays
Visitors will be able to experience free events thanks to a partnership with Chase.

PROVIDENCE, RI — The Rhode Island School of Design is offering free admission to visitors on Sundays, thanks to support from Chase. The funding will also support several community programs and events.
Free Sundays will begin this weekend. Also starting in March, the museum will offer free admission on the third Thursday evening of each month, as well as to the popular summer event "Design the Night," held each year in July.
The museum is currently exhibiting a series called "Raid the Icebox Now," which marks the 50th anniversary of its landmark show from 1970, Raid the Icebox I with Andy Warhol. From April 16-19, the museum will hold a series of events, sponsored by Chase, that will allow the public to engage with the new work of eight artists alongside some of the museum's permanent collection. The events will kick off with a party on the Third Thursday evening ahead of conversations with artists, scholars, performers and more. Ending the weekend will be Super Art Sunday, a full day designed to appeal to people of all ages.

Patricia Gilman, Chase's market director, said that investments in the community are "the backbone for how we do business."
"Arts education is vital to the fabric of Providence and the surrounding communities, and we hope more people will now be able to come out and enjoy all that the RISD Museum has to offer," Gilman said.
