Sporadic Power Outages Reported Across Rhode Island

Severe thunderstorms and lightning have knocked out power to National Grid customers across Rhode Island.

Thunderstorms across Rhode Island have knocked out power to hundreds of National Grid customers. Scattered outages have affected residents across the state.

Report or check on the status of an outage using National Grid's interactive outage map. Customers can also call 1-800-465-1212 or text the word "OUT" to 64743. More information on outages and how crews restore power is available at the company's outage central.

Hundreds of outages were reported in the northern edge of the state, where 1,600 customers were without power earlier in the evening. Power is expected to be restored to most Rhode Islanders before 9:30 p.m.
