Cranston Team Headed To Nationals, Need Your Help

RI team to Represent New England at American Youth Football National Championship

Cranston’s 10U CLCF Chiefs have earned the right to compete against 7 other U.S. teams for the 2019 AYF National Championship in Kissimmee, FL. AYF is the largest accredited youth football organization in the country and is in partnership with the NFL.

Mid-season, the team’s star running back, Daniel Mojica, broke his leg in two places. This was an enormous loss to the team and they were forced to regroup and rethink every play. The coaches helped the players eventually see that it was still possible to have a winning season—and through their dedication and commitment to the game of football and each other, they did in fact, tackle their way to the top.

This truly could be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for these talented and dedicated ten-year-old boys, and they are turning to our community to help fund this unique experience.

The goal is to raise enough money to cover flights, hotel, and food for all 17 players and their coaches—totaling $30,000—and they only have days to make it happen. If their goal is reached, the team will fly out on Saturday, December 7th to represent all of New England.

The team is counting on friends, family, local business owners and community leaders for help—a donation of any size will make an impact. Please consider donating and spreading the word to get these ten-year-old boys, learning life lessons of brotherhood and teamwork, to Nationals.
