2 Arrested In East Greenwich Road Rage Case: Police
Police say Matthew and Cody Toneatti are facing disorderly conduct charges after striking another vehicle with a hatchet.
EAST GREENWICH, RI — Two brothers were arrested Sunday evening following a road rage incident involving a hatchet in East Greenwich, reported WPRI.
Police say the incident began at approximately 6 p.m. when two vehicles were in a minor accident on the highway near the New London Turnpike.
One of the vehicles involved, occupied by two men identified as Matthew Toneatti, 31, and Cody Toneatti, 29, followed the other to the McDonald's off Exit 7, said police. The Toneatti brothers both got out and began striking the other vehicle with a hatchet.

According to police, both men were arrested on disorderly conduct charges. Cody, who admitted to breaking a rear window with the hatchet, was also charged with causing malicious damage to the other vehicle.
The brothers have been released and are due in court July 12, said police.
