After Recount, Justine Caldwell Is Still The District 30 Winner

The state recounted votes in six races and rejected the requests to recount eight others. The review did not change election night results.

EAST GREENWICH, RI — The state Board of Elections has completed recounts for the Nov. 6 election, according to Miguel Nunez. None of the winners and losers changed as a result of the review. That includes the District 30 House race where Republican Anthony Giarrusso, the incumbent, lost to the Democrat, Justine Caldwell. The seat represents East Greenwich and West Greenwich. The recount did not change any votes in that contest.

The state had received 14 recount requests but opted to conduct recounts in only six contests: the Coventry Town Council race, the North Kingstown Town Council race, the Smithfield Town Council race, the Scituate School Committee race and the races for District 28 and District 30 seats in the state House of Representatives.

The other requests were rejected.
