Block Party

Join us for food & fun!

Christ Church, located at 1025 Main Street, East Greenwich, is hosting a Block Party/Open House on Saturday, September 28 from 11:30am to 3:00pm. We would like to welcome all members of the community to stop by for food & fun. There will be food trucks, Del’s, face painting, temporary tattoos, a photo booth, a bounce house, games, and a chance to learn about the opportunities we have for kids and teens. Additionally, we will have information about the many local and global initiatives we support, as well as volunteers on hand to share their experiences making a difference both near and far.

Locally, Christ Church offers a number of support groups because life is not always easy! For those really difficult times, we offer Divorce Care, Grief Support and For Men Only. We also host a Friends of Bill W. group to help those dealing with substance abuse. Additionally, we sponsor a Car Clinic each October and the Christ Church Care Center, which reaches out to the community with help in the form of daily necessities, transportation funds, legal advice and hope through Jesus, since 2003. Partnering with The DORCAS International Institute of Rhode Island has enabled us to help refugees as they settle in our state. We have been providing the basic household goods needed to start life in a new location. Christ Church has also been involved in a mentoring program in Providence, partnering with the Reservoir Avenue School in Providence since 2004. During that time the school went from one of the lower performing schools to one of the best!

Globally, Christ Church partners with several organizations to provide world outreach. We are supporters of Team Healthcare Inc. which runs a pediatric hospital in Mali, improving healthcare access for children in their community. Streams of Living Water, runs an orphanage for girls in South Sudan, rescuing girls off the streets and giving them a loving home and education. Our partnership with Serving Our Neighbors International works to educate and train local communities in Tanzania on the need for clean water and good hygiene. Additionally, our support of the Congo Clinic Initiative raises the standard of health care in northwest Congo by providing solar electricity, refrigeration, clean water, new buildings, and repairing roads to the existing medical system of rural hospitals and rural clinics.
