Coronavirus: East Greenwich To Seek Input In Economic Recovery
Town officials said they will seek business input on how to transition to "getting people back to work later this spring."
EAST GREENWICH, RI — East Greenwich officials said they will be reaching out to local businesses for input as they begin to explore how to reopen the local economy amid the new coronavirus health emergency. Officials said they have begun working on a transition plan "to revitalize our business community and getting people back to work later this spring."
"Doing the right thing to keep people happy and balancing local interests does come with a cost," Officials said. "We've needed to take a step backwards, but can't wait to again achieve a strong sprint forward."
Officials indicated they hope to move quickly once it is deemed relatively safe for the business community to start functioning at a reasonable level once again.
