East Greenwich Blotter: Woman Screams, Man Passes Out On Roadway
Also, La Masseria was warned for serving alcohol on the sidewalk after hours and 12 cars were ticketed for parking illegally.
EAST GREENWICH, RI — Police in East Greenwich responded to a number of calls between June 20 and 27. Below are the highlights.
June 20
At 12:09 a.m., La Masseria on Main Street was given a second warning for serving alcohol on the sidewalk afterhours.
Just after 1 p.m. on June 20, Benjamin Rittmann, 33, of East Greenwich, was arrested and charged with Domestic-Simple Assault/Battery and Domestic-Disorderly Conduct.

On June 20, police were sent to Eldredge Elementary School around 10:56 p.m. where a possible argument was reported. Police reported a woman had been kicked out of her friend's car. Police said only a verbal argument had taken place.
Around 10:26 p.m., a woman complained a bartender at Hill and Harbor Cigar Lounge was discriminating against her. Police reported she paid her tab and left.

At 10:35 p.m., a caller told police a man was seen laying on the side of the road on Bates Trail. Police took the man to his home and left him with a sober person.
June 21
Around 1 a.m., a caller on Mayflower Drive reported to police he was camping in his back yard and heard a woman "screaming at the top of her lungs"nearby. Police investigated but found no screaming woman.
Around 1:29 a.m., a caller old police a man was in the grass at McDonald's on New London Turnpike. The caller said the man was not bothering anyone or acting suspiciously. State police handled the incident.
Around 1:27 p.m. on June 21, police responded to assist the fire department for a report of smoke on Middle Road. A brush fire was found and extinguished.
Around 8:40 p.m., police responded to a report of a man who had fallen and was unconscious. Police said the man was conscious and taken to a hospital for evaluation.
June 22
An elderly male with an altered mental state on Miss Fry Drive was taken to Kent Hospital around 8:45 a.m.
June 25
Around 1:11 a.m., someone on South Road reported to police that a white man wearing a blank tank top or tee shirt was on her back deck. The caller said she heard banging on the house.
Around 1:15 p.m., police ticketed 12 cars parked illegally on Middle Road at Cars pond Road.
June 26
around 3 p.m, police responded to a report of death at Sleepy Hollow Road. A 91-year-old woman was found unresponsive. No other details were available.
Around 10:29 p.m., a caller near Pierce Street told police he saw a man pushing a bicycle with a woman on the seat, apparently passed out.
June 27
A caller on Pierce Street called police around 1:13 p.m. to report three dogs were left in a car with the windows up. Police arrived and found a Tesla with a message on the dash that said "the air condition is on and my owner will be back soon. The interior of the car was found to be 71 degrees.
