East Greenwich Crews Respond To Garbage Truck Fire

East Greenwich crews responded to a garbage truck fire on Route 4 North Wednesday afternoon.

EAST GREENWICH, RI — East Greenwich fire crews responded to a garbage truck that caught fire on Wednesday afternoon. Crews reported at one point that the cab of the truck was fully engulfed in flames.

The fire closed Route 4 North while crews battled the blaze.

It was a busy day on the roads all around for the town as East Greenwich police said that Middle Road from South County Trail to East Greenwich High School was closed early Wednesday afternoon due to a tree down in the road. The tree also took down power lines.
