East Greenwich Resident Represents USA At World Rowing Championship In Bulgaria

EAST GREENWICH — In an impressive final sprint to the finish line, the lightweight women’s double sculls crew of Brigid Kennedy (East Greenwich, R.I.; Harvard University) and Olivia Farrar (Pittsford, N.Y.; Harvard University) moved from fifth to third place in a time of 7.15.65. Finishing 0.74 seconds ahead of fourth place, the women were able to earn a spot in the semifinal for the event. They will race again on Saturday, July 22 at 5:12 a.m. EST.

Both at eighteen years old, Kennedy and Farrar are the youngest competitors in the event. Both teammates will be Freshman at Harvard University this fall.
