East Greenwich Seeks To Update Firefighter Eligibilty List
East Greenwich is looking for those interested in positions that may become available in the town.
EAST GREENWICH, RI — The East Greenwich Fire Department is looking for firefighters who are wishing to be part of the town's firefighter eligibility list.
The Department is a full-time Fire/EMS. The Department responds to more than 4,200 fire and EMS calls per year. The position reports directly to the Fire Chief.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or G.E.D, be at least 18 years of age, and possess a valid operator's license. Hold a current licensure as an EMT-C or higher in the State of Rhode Island. Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen at the time of appointment.

Applicants must provide a certificate from the R.I. Association of Fire Chiefs showing successful completion of the physical performance assessment (PPA). Only valid certificates that are unexpired will be accepted or the ability to participate and pass in the next scheduled PPA test.
Each successful applicant will be required to get a criminal background check and a review of their motor vehicle history. There is a $50 application fee and that must be included with your application. Checks can be made out to The Town of East Greenwich and please include in the notation area: Fire Test.
