East Greenwich Student Wins Rhode Island Spelling Bee

EAST GREENWICH, RI — A student from East Greenwich will compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee after winning the Rhode Island Spelling Bee Friday, reported WPRI.
Seoyon Kim, an eighth grader at Wheeler School in Providence, won the spelling bee with the word "bout."
Due to the pandemic, the Rhode Island Spelling Bee was held virtually and participants were required to hold their hands up during the competition to prevent cheating.
