EG Teen Qualifies For Gymnastics Competition, Family Reports

EAST GREENWICH, RI—Ellie Sheridan, junior at East Greenwich High, has qualified for a gymnastics competition, the Level 9 Eastern Championships, her family told Patch on Wednesday. Ellie is a gymnastic athlete at Aim High Academy, her mother said.

"She competed at the USA gymnastics region 6 Regional competition last weekend in Springfield, Mass., " Deanna Sheridan said, and "she placed 5th All around in her age bracket. She is one of three Rhode Island Athletes representing Region 6 which consists of New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine."

Next month, she will be going up against athletes from about 20 states.

"The meet will take place May 4-6th in Rochester, NY," Sheridan said.
