Garbage Truck Knocks Down Power Lines In East Greenwich

The East Greenwich Fire Department reported that a garbage truck took down power lines after hitting a tree on Monday afternoon.

EAST GREENWICH, RI—The East Greenwich Fire Department reported on Monday that a garbage truck crashed into a tree and took down power lines.

The crash happened at approximately 4 p.m. at 960 Carrs Pond Road near Waterford Drive when a garbage truck rolled over, hit a tree, and knocked down wires, according to firefighters.

The fire department said rainy weather and slick roads may be to blame for the crash.
