Many industries are taking the holiday the day before the holiday, since it falls on a Saturday.

EAST GREENWICH, RI —This July 4 will be a lot different from years past, with fireworks displays and community celebrations around the state canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
In addition, the holiday falls on a Saturday, meaning many industries will be observing the day before.
In East Greenwich, the transfer station will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday and closed on Saturday.

- Retail stores: Open at owner's discretion.
- Liquor stores: Open.
- Supermarkets: Open.
- Convenience stores: Open.
- Restaurants: Open at owner's discretion.
- Banks: Closed.
- Stock market: Closed Friday.
- Municipal, state, federal offices: Most are closed on Friday, check town websites for more information.
- Libraries: Closed.
- Mail: Post offices closed Saturday, regular delivery Friday.
- Trash Collection: Most towns with pickup are on a regular schedule.
