AIDS Awareness day: In honor of World AIDS Day (yesterday, Dec. 1), the Rhode Island Coalition for HIV Prevention is holding Rhode Island’s 2nd Annual World AIDS Day Event at the Rhode Island Statehouse today at noon.
Indoor farmers market: Check out East Greenwich's Indoor Winter Market this afternoon. "Arts & Farms" will be open from 3 to 6 p.m. serving hot coffee and selling many of your grocery needs. Say hello to our pet goats, Peaches-n-Cream and Trinity, and bring your kids to the weekly story hour from 5 to 6 p.m. by Wendy Fachon. From 3 to 6 p.m.

Holiday Tasting Event: Ocean State Job Lot, 1441 Elmwood Ave., Cranston, (401) 785-1527, is holding a Holiday Tasting Event today from 4 to 6 p.m. University of Rhode Island SNAP-Ed nutrition educator Heidi Hetzler will prepare healthy, nutritious and delicious holiday side dishes using inexpensive food items available at Job Lot. Recipes include mushroom brown rice pilaf, heart-healthy stuffing, and double cornbread. The demonstration and sampling event is free and open to the public.

Latkes and Fun: You are invited to Latkes & Fun, a Hanukkah event at Temple Torat Yisrael Tuesday at 6 p.m. There will be latkes, snacks, a craft table, dreidel games, a dreidel cookie walk and of course, the menorah lighting. You may bring your own menorah to light too. Please bring a donation for Crossroads in North Kingstown – any of the following items: socks, underwear, pajamas (young children sizes and young adult sizes), cleaning supplies, and toiletries. 1251 Middle Road. School Committee meeting: On the agenda is discussion of the high school graduation waiver policy. The full agenda is here. They meet in the library at Cole Middle School.
East Greenwich Art Club meeting: The EG Art Club’s monthly meeting will be a “round robin” of artist members. You can also bring ONE painting to be critiqued by other members in a relaxed setting. There will also be food, music and a few surprises. At the First Baptist Church, 30 Peirce St., East Greenwich. 7 p.m.

Cove Commission meeting: The panel will discuss the request to DEM and CRMC for more moorings and, in old business, rights of way. They meet in the Council Conference Room at Town Hall. 4:30 p.m. Here’s their agenda.
Bird of Prey at Biomes: The Audubon Society of R.I. is bringing a live bird-of-prey to visit at Biomes. You’ll learn about birds of prey and discover their amazing hunting skills. With the cold weather here, you’ll learn how to make a quick and easy bird feeder you can take home. Talking with Teens: Another in an occassional series of informal gatherings where adults are invited to hear a group of teens talk about "what its like to be a teen.” Among the topics to be discussed – school, getting along with parents, social pressures, peer presssures and time management. Presented by the EGHS T.L.C. (Teen Leadership Consortium). In the auditorium at St. Luke’s Church, Peirce Street, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

On Thursday …
Santa & Tree Lighting: The annual tree lighting at Town Hall takes place Thursday after Santa arrives. There will be music by the St. Luke’s children’s choir. 5 p.m.
Winter's Eve: Presented by the East Greenwich Free Library, Winter’s Eve offers art, music, wine & hors d'oeuvres, and interesting conversation at the East Greenwich Free Library. Featuring Acoustical Guitarist Ceili Connors. 6 to 8 p.m.
Sausage-making workshop: Learn the art and craft of making delicious sausage from Chef Matt Gennuso, owner of Chez Pascal, The Wurst Kitchen, and Hewtin’s Dogs Mobile Food Truck. Chef Matt will teach you the finer details of meat cut selection, how to season your sausage, and how to properly stuff the meat into casings. This hands-on workshop will include instruction and sausage tasting. Pat's Pastured (Boesch Farm), 830 South Road. From 6 to 8 p.m.

Schools Technology Advisory Committee meeting: They will be discussing 1:1 technology. In the superintendent’s conference room at 111 Peirce St. 7:30 a.m.
